Wedding planning vs House of Cards

So last night Mr DTE and I were supposed to do more wedding planning, and instead we ended up binging on House of Cards and Ben and Jerry’s. For the second night in a row. Oops? I know I’ve said before that I love wedding planning, and I reeeeeeeally do. But sometimes you just have to procrastinate a little and chill out, right?

House of Cards – 1      Wedding planning – O     (Dang)

So I have some wedding bits to do that really should be getting done. Shock horror – I’m guessing you do too. Always something that needs to be done hey? For me, it’s nothing alarming that will end up with the wedding not happening, yikes I hope not anyway, but still…I could do with getting it done, y’know?

By the way, I hope I don’t sound like one of THOSE brides when I say that I enjoy planning my wedding:

Facebook update alert:  Bride is *feeling blessed*: I love my wedding planning! Woop!

Trust me, I am not one of those brides. I just mean that it can be fun and doesn’t have to take over ALL OF YOU AND EVERYTHING EVER.

However, as much as I say I enjoy it all, I also enjoy getting home from work, having dinner, sitting on the sofa and watching House of Cards all evening with some ice cream and my cat…and maybe Mr DTE if he’s lucky.

I definitely go through ups and downs with the wedding planning. Some weeks I am on fire, I am Wonderwoman, I am decisive and I just glide right through. Then other weeks I procrastinate the hell out of the wedding, and I watch the most amount of House of Cards and the Don’t tell the Bride humanly possible. It’s all about Swings and Roundabouts hey?

Give yourselves a night off, bridelings. Have a steak, have some wine, have some ice cream. Have some fun. I’ll be with you in spirit. Enjoy. Later dudelings x

I'm a 32 year-old newlywed bride, living in London. I recently got married (July 2016) and am here to spread wedding joy and worldly wedding advice to fellow bridelings who don't want their weddings to take over their lives. Let's laugh (nervously) in the face of bonkers wedding planning!
