Pinterest: the dark side

I’m a bit of a cliche really but I heart Pinterest. Apparently all brides in existence love Pinterest, and yes I am one of them. However…

…along with all the tasteful and lovely non-Bridezilla and non-Disney wedding posts that I choose to fill into my Pinterest news feed, I’ve been a bit sad/angry to see some completely ridiculous posts too.

For example:

How not to look ugly at your wedding
Bad vibes: BE GONE

Erm…what??  I’m pretty sure if a bride-to-be has some body/face issues, a ‘clickbait’ post like this is not going to solve these concerns in one swift hit. It just reminds the bride-to-be of their body worry, whilst probably trying to coerce her into buying some piece of gym equipment or a face cream to reduce the risk of ‘looking ugly on your wedding day’.

I say…bugger off! Good vibes only please. Bridelings, you’re all beauties to me. If you see posts like this, let’s make a deal to ignore them or adjust our news feed settings. Ya?

Happy Friday – have a G&T on me; you’re worth it x

If you’re in need of a Pep talk, have a look at the Down-to-earth Bride Pep Talk Pinterest board. You are wonderbar.

I'm a 32 year-old newlywed bride, living in London. I recently got married (July 2016) and am here to spread wedding joy and worldly wedding advice to fellow bridelings who don't want their weddings to take over their lives. Let's laugh (nervously) in the face of bonkers wedding planning!
