Oh Valentine’s…

Bridelings: Valentine’s: yay or nay? I’ve always been a nay. Nay to cuddly toys and sickly things, and going for dinner like cattle and sitting with other couples having your set menu meal. Yay to some quality time just the two of us, but without the vommy stuff.

Mr DTE and I always have a Come Dine with Me style cook-off for Valentine’s Day. One of us cooks the night before, the other cooks the night of Valentine’s Day. Romantic huh? Then we score each other and see who wins. Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a score card, amI I right?

Whatever way you do Valentine’s Day, it’s nice for it to just be personal to you I think, whatever your tradition is. For me, this is weeks of menu research, a whole day of ingredients prep and a year’s worth of competitive spirit all concentrated into two hours.

I’d love to stay and chat, but I have a cook-off to get back to and a respectable 3-2 score to beat. WISH ME  LUCK! Happy Valentine’s Eve loved ones. Keep it real this weekend x

I'm a 32 year-old newlywed bride, living in London. I recently got married (July 2016) and am here to spread wedding joy and worldly wedding advice to fellow bridelings who don't want their weddings to take over their lives. Let's laugh (nervously) in the face of bonkers wedding planning!
