To fiancé(e) or not to fiancé(e): How to address your bride/groom-to-be:

Is it weird to avoid the word ‘fiancé’? It’s not that I don’t love my fiancé, OBVIOUSLY. I just feel like a ponce when I say the word. Does this happen to anyone else??

I just say ‘boyfriend’ instead. Then people look down at my ring and I can see them thinking….’is this a phantom bride?’

I’m just looking forward to saying ‘husband’. That’s a thing – a proper title. When I say fiancé I feel like people just think it’s code for HEY! HEY WORLD! I AM GETTING MARRIED!

Maybe I’m being waaaay too British about this. Maybe I’m over thinking it. Or maaaaaybe not? What say ye, brides-to-be? x

I'm a 32 year-old newlywed bride, living in London. I recently got married (July 2016) and am here to spread wedding joy and worldly wedding advice to fellow bridelings who don't want their weddings to take over their lives. Let's laugh (nervously) in the face of bonkers wedding planning!
